Cameron Wood is a beautiful, established neighborhood in the SouthPark area of Charlotte located between Park Road and Quail Hollow Country Club/Carmel Road.

Developed between 1986 and 2002, Cameron Wood is close to some of the city’s most popular areas, such as the SouthPark Mall area, Uptown, Pineville and Ballantyne. Johnston Road borders the neighborhood on the south and provides quick access to Pineville-Matthews Road or I-485.

The McMullen Creek separates Cameron Wood from the Carmel-area neighborhoods to the east.

It is approximately 15 miles to Uptown from the center of Cameron Wood and about the same distance to Ballantyne. There is no shortage of nearby shopping, dining and amenities. For golfers, 3 of the area’s best golf courses are less than 10 minutes away – Quail Hollow Country Club, Carmel Country Club and Ballantyne Country Club.

Cameron Wood is situated on 386 acres that features a natural 1 acre spring-fed pond. Currently, the neighborhood has 804 homes that range in size from 1,600 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet. Many of the earlier-built homes have undergone some updating, especially in kitchens.

Five different villages make up the Cameron Wood neighborhood. They are: Park Springs, Stone Croft, Wingfield, Glen Laurel and Deer Brooke. Prior to Highland Creek’s development in northeast Charlotte, Cameron Wood was the largest planned community in the county.

The neighborhood is home to Cameron Wood Swim and Racquet Club. Residents are not automatically members and must join the club to use the facilites, which include pool, tennis courts and clubhouse. There is also a recreational field/ball field and playground near the swim club that is available to any Cameron Wood resident regardless of club membership.

For residents not wanting to join the club, Harris YMCA is only 3 miles away for fitness, indoor and outdoor swimming and sports.

Cameron Wood’s central location and established feel make it an ever-popular neighborhood in Charlotte.

Approximately 46 homes sold in Cameron Wood during the last 12 months, which averages out to 3.8 homes sold per month.

The average sales price for those homes sold was $314,797 or about $135 per square foot. Those sales closed at more than 98% of list price. Several homes in Cameron Wood sold for full list price in the last 12-month period.

There are currently 17 Cameron Woods homes for sale. Ten of the homes are under contract as of April 24.

Given sales trends during the last 12 months in Cameron Wood, 17 homes amounts to 4.5 months of inventory. That level matches inventory for all of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

Cameron Wood is zoned for Charlotte’s Smithfield Elementary School, Quail Hollow Middle School, and South Mecklenburg High School. All 3 schools are less than 1 mile from the neighborhood and within walking distance from the northern part of Cameron Wood!
