Just south of Raintree is a well established neighborhood with large homes and tree lined streets called Berkeley. Homes here were built in the late 1980’s but there are some built as late as 2005. Most homes here are grand in scale with the average home having 3,243 square feet of living space. Lot sizes are typically around a third of an acre with the largest coming in just over half an acre. Most homes are colonial in style so there is great cohesion in the development.
Berkeley is located on the northwest corner of Providence Road and Ballantyne Commons Parkway. This great location is close to shopping, dining, entertainment, fitness, and outdoor recreation. There are two different YMCA locations close by as well as Mecklenburg Aquatics Club just outside the neighborhood.
Homes in Berkeley have all brick exteriors and some homes have full basements. Many have outdoor living areas to take advantage of the great weather in the region. There is great attention to detail in these homes and many have custom features and updates. Large well appointed kitchens are the norm in Berkeley and homes have plenty of storage too.
Great schools are just one of the many reasons Berkeley is so popular. Children here currently attend Providence Spring Elementary, J.M. Robinson Middle, and Providence High Schools. Please verify school assignments as they are subject to change. Berkeley is also home to Charlotte Latin School, a great choice for private schooling.
