Duck Donuts will start serving its made-to-order donuts in Dilworth this summer. The goal is to open the 1,500-square-foot shop in July, says franchisee Scott Plassman. The Charlotte School of Law has more space than it needs uptown. So the for-profit law school has listed two of its floors for sublease in the Charlotte Plaza tower. The 12th and 13th floors of the building total more than 49,000 square feet. The law school leased 10 floors totaling about 250,000 square at Charlotte Plaza in 2012. A New York-based real estate investment group has purchased the Charlotte Plaza building in uptown Charlotte for $160 million. An affiliate of JFR Global Investments, headed by Joe Friedland, recently closed on its acquisition of the building, which was listed for sale last year by real estate firm Hines. Charlotte City Council approved a rezoning Monday night that clears the way for a major mixed-use project at the Charlotte Golf Links site in south Charlotte.
