Indian Land is about to have a new IT managed-services company. CompuCom Systems, Inc will move its headquarters to Indian Land from Plano, TX outside of Dallas. CompuCom is a leading technology infrastructure services company. Many employees are expected to make the move, but there will be employment opportunities accompanying this move.
The new 150,000 square foot building is expected to be complete by the end of 2017 if not before. The new building should be home to 1,500 employees and will provide a $41 million investment in Lancaster County. The largest ever job announcement for Lancaster County was made public today and will be a boon for the South Carolina economy.
Bailes Ridge Business Park will be home to the new CompuCom Systems building. Located near the intersection of Highway 160 & Highway 521 in SC, it has excellent access to I-485.
CompuCom will join Red Ventures, Continental Tire of the Americas, the Inspiration Network, and Movement Mortgage all headquartered in Indian Land. This move sets up Indian Land and North Lancaster County to be a hub for corporate headquarters. South Carolina has been encouraging entrepreneurship so the hope is to entice many more companies to invest here.
Per CompuCom’s press release, “the office is being designed as a leading “smart building” in South Carolina, using IoT to connect, automate and control all electronic systems and devices within the building – including HVAC, lighting, meters/sensors, fitness equipment, kitchen electronics, elevators, water, power, communications, TVs and security. The workspace design promotes a collaborative, dynamic environment to meet the needs of a modern workforce.”
