Midtown mixed-use project now a go after Charlotte City Council reconsiders

A rezoning request for a mixed-use project in midtown has been approved by Charlotte City Council, one week after the request was initially denied. Last week, the rezoning request, which faced a protest petition, fell short of the nine votes required for it to pass. Starting Friday, many of Charlotte’s most active apartment developers will work together on a single-family project for a good cause. A group of 11 companies are teaming up to build a house for Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.
