Indian Land is expanding by leaps and bounds, and the latest development is a movie theater and retail development by MPV Properties that broke ground Feb. 10, according to a company press release.
A 14-screen Stone Theatres cinema and nearly 55,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space is the first phase of the planned RedStone development.
The 53,000-square-foot cinema will seat 2,800 patrons.
The second phase of the 40-acre development is still in the planning stages, but will make the development a “major retail hub,” according to the developer. In total, RedStone will have 310,000 square feet of retail space.
RedStone is located in northern Lancaster County at the intersection of Highway 521 and Highway 160.
According to Census figures, Indian Land’s growth was responsible for putting Lancaster County on the list of the fastest-growing South Carolina counties in 2014. The county added 2,630 residents from 2013 to 2014 and most of that expansion came from Indian Land.
Between 2010 and 2014, Lancaster County population jumped 8.5% to 83,160.
So it’s no wonder development, both residential and commercial, is booming. The recession slowed things down slightly, but it has certainly picked up again in Indian Land.
There are many great homes to consider in Indian Land. It’s convenient to Charlotte, Rock Hill and Lake Wylie.
