York County, South Carolina
York County, set just over the NC/SC border and southwest of Charlotte, includes the Lake Wylie & Rock Hill. Originally inhabited by the native Catawba indians, Europeans moved down from Pennsylvania along the Great Wagon Road & settled in the area around the 1740s-50s.
Today, York county is home to the bustling town of Rock Hill in it’s resurgence as an extremely livable town with lots of amenities. On the northern border of South Carolina, with only 20 minutes to Uptown Charlotte, York county is known for it’s low taxes, great schools and laid back pace of life.
