Get to know Fort Mill’s Beacon Knoll neighborhood

The Beacon Knoll neighborhood in Fort Mill is an upscale community just south of Charlotte that offers a convenient location near great shopping, dining and schools all in York County, where property taxes are lower!

The community of just over 100 homes is located off Pleasant Road just southwest of Carowinds Boulevard. It is just a few minutes to the North Carolina border.

From Beacon Knoll, I-77 is less than a mile away at Carowinds Boulevard or pick up Highway 51 (Pineville-Rock Hill (SC) Road) just south of the neighborhood and travel to Pineville, Carolina Place Mall or the Ballantyne area. Manchester Village in Rock Hill is also only 15 minutes away for dinner and a movie.

Charlotte Douglas airport and the Uptown area of Charlotte are both approximately 15 miles away.

Beacon Knoll offers many resident amenities such as a clubhouse, pool, lighted tennis courts, playground and outdoor basketball court. There are also several large ponds on the property that are stocked for fishing and a gazebo with electricity and a grill.

Carowinds is also less than 2 miles away for a day at the amusement or water park! In addition, beautiful Lake Wylie is about 7 miles to the west for boating, water skiing or swimming!

Homes in Beacon Knoll are brick or stucco and range from the $300,000s and up. The homes were built in the 1980s and early 1990s and are on well-maintained, mature lots. Many of the oldest homes have been updated and/or renovated. Typically, homes range in size from 2,500 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet.

Eight homes sold in the last 12 months in Beacon Knoll for an average sales price of $386,176 and about $114 per square foot. Sales closed for an average of 96% of list price; a few homes sold at or above list price in Beacon Knoll during the last year.

There are currently 4 homes listed for sale in Beacon Knoll. As of May 11, one is under contract. The list prices range from $332,000 to $468,000.

The neighborhood is zoned for York County’s Springfield elementary and middle schools and Nation Ford High School.
